Sheila Torres

I am passionate about Early Childhood Education. I have been involved in education for more than thirty years. I have also raised three children of my own and two foster children.I have been involved in numerous young peoples lives.

I studied Junior Primary education at Johannesburg College of Education in the early sixties. I became involved in pre-school education after my divorce and found it to be the place I belonged. 

Having come from primary education I was astounded to find how easily children learnt when given the freedom to explore, play an be creative.

I have taught extensively in South Africa but spent the last ten years in Botswana working in an International School and later in an Orphan Care Centre for AIDS orphans. I taught briefly on Antigua in the West Indies.

I hope we can establish a forum that will be of benefit to all who are interested in E.C.D. The Early Years which play such a crucial role in child development.
